Loan Application Checklist

This is a list of documents that are typically required in order to process your mortgage application.  While the list is not all inclusive, it does represent the majority of items the banks requires.  The items listed below are needed for all borrowers. 

  • Copy of your Drivers License
  • Copy of your social security cards 
  • Copy of your most recent (last 2) Paystub(s)
  • Copy of the last 2 years W-2’s for all jobs
  • Copy of your last 2 years Personal Tax Returns
  • Copy of your last 2 years Business Tax Returns (if self employed)
  • Copy of year to date Profit & Loss for your business (if self employed)
  • Copy of all Leases for any rental property
  • Copy of Separation Agreement & Final Divorce Decree
  • Copy of Bankruptcy Petition, Discharge Papers
  • Copy of your Award Letter if currently receiving Social Security, Disability or Retirement Income
  • Copy of College Transcripts or your Diploma/Decree (if recently graduated)
  • Copy of your VA Loan Certificate of Eligibility (if applying for a VA loan)
  • Copy of your last 2 months Bank Statements for all accounts (include all pages even if blank)
  • Copy of your last 2 months Retirement and/or Stock Statements
  • Copy of your Homeowners Policy, Agents Name, Complete Mailing Address & Phone Number
  • Any recent large deposits to your accounts must have a paper trail meaning there needs to be evidence of the transaction showing the source of funds and deposit slips
